New Visiting Professor for Policing Research

Welcome to our newest Visiting Professor, Dr Adrian James, who is a Reader in Police Studies at the Centre for Advanced Police Studies, Liverpool John Moores University. A highly experienced police trainer, educator and researcher, Adrian recognises the privilege of being a visiting professor at USW and the opportunities that the post offers, to guide and mentor staff and students contemplating or currently undertaking research into police or policing.

Adrian is a former police detective. His 30 years with the Metropolitan Police included extended secondments to the Serious Organised Crime Agency and HM Revenue and Customs (as an intelligence manager) and the National Crime Squad (as an operational team and syndicate leader). He was a visiting trainer at the national specialist crime training centre for more than 15 years.
